For those of you who dream of being in the audience for Oprah's "Favorite Things" show, don't feel so bad this year. For some odd reason, Oprah's tastes have taken a decidedly different flavor this year. Gone are the HDTV Fridges and HD Camcorders. Nope, this year's list includes items the typical family can afford. Some are even, gasp, free.
Sources close to Oprah have confirmed that the items featured on the show will be toned down, but still have a twist. The show will focus more on traditions and gifts that don't cost anything which I think is a good thing. It's time we got back to the things that really matter in life instead of material possessions.
It's been reported that at least one audience member wasn't too happy about the cheap stuff. Come on. Give me a break. Why are so many people so selfish?
Oprah's favorite things episode airs Wednesday, November 26, 2008, the day before Thanksgiving.
